        Who We are

The Dramatic Arts Society (DAS) is an organization that produces quality theater experiences for the Pacific Union College community. Students, faculty, staff and community members form an ensemble of actors, directors, designers and stage managers that collaborates on comedies, tragedies, musicals and original works. The Alice Holst Theater, which opened in March of 2007, is a black-box theater that is used for productions and a variety of stage production classes offered through the Drama Program of the English Department.

Recent shows include the original works "My Alice: The Story Behind the Story of Alice in Wonderland," "Red Books: Our Search for Ellen White," which toured Southern California in the fall of 2007, "Clay Feet/Wire Wings," and "This Adventist Life." DAS also produces classical works, most recently Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" in the amphitheater outside the Alice Holst Theater. Other past works include Thorton Wilder's "The Skin of Our Teeth" and "Our Town," Moliere's "The Misanthrope," and the musical "Fiddler on the Roof," produced with NVMT in the Lincoln Theater in Yountville.
